I-League: Bimal Not Concerned Of Chirag's Nigerian Defence

Air India coach Bimal Ghosh isn’t concerned about the two Nigerian defenders – Louis Ebami and Daniel Ayeni at the heart of Chirag United defence and added that he was the first coach in the I-League to employ to foreign defenders.

Chirag United central defenders – Louis and Daniel have had an impact ever since they took field for the club. They nullified fellow Nigerian’s Chidi Edeh (Mahindra United) and Odafa Okolie (Churchill Brothers) in the last two games.

Speaking to Goal.com, Bimal said, “I was the first coach to employ to foreign defenders in top division football when I had Suleh Musa and Martins. I know how it works and doesn’t work.”

Bimal Ghosh praised Chirag United for their performance against Mahindra United two weeks ago whom they beat 3-1 at the Cooperage Stadium.

“They (Chirag) played very well in that (Mahindra) game. We can’t take them lightly. We shall how they play and then decide the way forward,” said the tactician.

Air India coach further mentioned that he found the Cooperage in good condition as opposed to the popular view of the ground being unfit.

“Cooperage is a good stadium and I found nothing wrong with it.”
